Domestic violence is a pattern of coercive behavior that may include physical, sexual, economic, emotional and psychological abuse of one family member or romantic partner by another.

95% of reported cases of domestic violence involve a male batterer and female victim.

The women of Pakistani communities are facing many problems of various kinds arising out of poverty and traditional malpractice, which include domestic violence, physical tortures and gender imbalance. Their inferior status does not allow them to have equal access to education, health and employment. They lack self confidence thus cannot face the challenges of daily life.
